Conversations with Penny

I try my best to write down exactly what Penny says right when she says it. If I don't write it down right away, it gets lost in my mind and I can never remember. I do this in phases, so sometimes I go several weeks without writing any of her funny conversations down, and sometimes I am really good about it for a stretch. Here are some recent conversations. Oh how I love this child.

11/9/12
My phone rings.
P: I need to check my phone. I don't have a phone. I need to check mommy's phone.

E: Tell daddy happy birthday.
P: Happy birthday, daddy! It's uncle Josh's birthday too.
We were visiting with cousins who'd been calling Daddy Uncle Josh

11/12/12
P: I drive. I driving. See you later, Mommy.
E: Where are you going?
P: Whole Foods.
E: What do you need there?
P: Grapes.

P: Baby bite Mommy. Baby get a time out.
Puts her doll in time out.

P: Daddy want some lunch. Want some lunch, Daddy?
D: Yeah. What are you going to make me for lunch?
P: A knuckle sandwich.

Screaming as we drive into the gym parking lot
P: No go to the gym! Noooo!
E: Oh, please, Penny. You love the gym.
P: (cries for another minute, then stops) Yeah, I love the gym. No cry at the gym. Do art projects. And mommy comes back.

E: I'll pick you up when Daddy comes and takes Olive.
P: Josh! Take the baby!

E: If you do really good listening today, you can have some popcorn after dinner.
P: I want some dinner now.

Penny has a towel with bunny ears, and when she gets out of the tub, we sing Little Bunny FuFu to her. Here's Penny's version:
